Tuổi Trẻ Của Tháng Năm: Hee Tae, a pride of Gwangju, enters the prestigious Seoul National University Medical School with the highest score. His best friend, Kyung Soo, a pro-democracy activist, insists on running an illegal clinic for students fleeing the govement. One day, a factory worker is injured in a protest, and Hee Tae must meet a potential spouse arranged by his father to cover the cost of transporting him and the worker back home. At this meeting, he meets Myung Hee, a resilient nurse who overcomes life's challenges. She only agrees to attend this meeting on behalf of her friend Soo Ryeon, who needs money to buy a plane ticket to study in Germany. However, Myung Hee and Hee Tae fall in love. In May 1980, amid passionate love and the resounding calls for democracy throughout Gwangju, Hee Tae and Myung Hee find themselves caught in the whirlwind of fate.
