Biệt Đội Tiêm Kích: Soar Into the Sun tells the story of Tae Hun, a fighter pilot in the South Korean Air Force. After causing chaos at an annual air show, he is transferred to the 21st Fighter Squadron. There, he clashes with his fellow pilot Cheol Hui but also befriends other pilots and falls for the maintenance officer Se Young. His antics lead to the suspension of the entire squadron's missions. When North Korean MIGs threaten, the unit is called back into a fierce dogfight that results in a comrade's death and another going missing. Cheol Hui and Tae Hun join forces to rescue their missing friends and prevent a catastrophic war. Tae Hun reconnects with his old school friend Yu Jin and the leader of the Black Eagles squadron, Dae Seo. He gradually adapts to his new environment and colleagues but cannot avoid clashes with the leader of the Black Eagles squadron, Cheol Hui, considered the top gun of the 21st Fighter Squadron. To redeem himself, Tae Hun challenges Cheol Hui to a dogfight and leas the bitter taste of failure for the first time. He invites aircraft mechanic Se Young to help fix his fighter jet in preparation for a rematch. One day, an unidentified fighter jet appears in the Seoul sky, putting the 21st Fighter Squadron in a battle for potentially starting a nuclear war. Tae Hun and his comrades must fight to protect innocent civilians and fulfill their ultimate mission, risking everything by diving into enemy territory.
